You know we love you, John. Right? You are our guy. Just don't confuse that with a mandate to run for Governor. It's not going to be pretty and I don't think you've got the edge that it's going to take to beat Neumann.
Just stay as our Senator and we can all be happy.

I don't think he has the name recognition needed to run.
On the other hand, he could use the run as an opportunity to talk about his health care proposal. He may think the statewide publicity is worth seeking, even if he has no chance of winning the nomination.
