Legendary CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite, 92, long known as the "Most Trusted
Man in America," is gravely ill, according to multiple CBS News sources and
published reports.
Watching the work of a giant like Cronkite just serves to show the light weight of many of today's journalists.

Once voted the "most trusted man in America," he has been one of my heros. I remember when I was 8 years old, I saw his report about G.M. stopping the production of the Corvair. I wrote Walter a letter, wanting to know why. Damned if HE didn't write back! Just a quick paragraph or two--actually signed by him!!!
