In the real world it often doesn't work out quite that way.
Raymond Keith McWain, 26, had just turned a corner in his car when he
noticed a truck with three men alongside his car. The deaf man was communicating with the other two in the truck through sign language, police said.
McWain thought the sign language gestures were some sort of slight
or "disrespect" toward him, police said. He made some gestures of his own and
honked and cut in front of the truck before pulling into the pizza store. The
men in the truck followed.
In the parking lot, McWain and the three men from the truck began
pushing and shoving, police said. McWain's cousin, Daniel Harris, 20, who works
at the pizza store, came out and began beating the deaf man as the deaf man's
companions pummeled McWain.
Multiple shots were fired from at least one gun.

Most people who champion concealed carry point out that it's criminal behavior that is the problem not the guns. If you read all the way to the end of this story, you discover that one of the participants was arrested for being in possession of a large amount of Meth. Sounds like criminal behavior to me.
It's not nice, or relevant, to try to associate law abiding people who want to exercise their right to protect themselves with the actions of criminals.
It amazes me (and should impress you) that I can't recall a single story of a citizen with a permit doing anything illegal with a gun even though 48 of 50 states already allow concealed carry.

Why would it amaze you not to hear the stories when the NRA pushed for legislation for registered conceal and carry owners not be publicized. For all we know, all of the gun crimes were committeed by people with permits.
But I do recall a story from Michigan a few months ago of a woman, with permit, stopping on the freeway and shooting at cars because she felt they were following too closely. She later admitted to having a bad day.
Then there was the retiree, with a permit from Florida, shooting a young father in the back, as he was putting his child in a car seat, just cuz he thought the man was blocking his way on purpose. This was about the latter part of last year.
