Fighting Over Roadkill

From The Washington Times:
Gingrich, Steele duel privately for RNC job

Neither man is an RNC member but both are passionate about leading the rebuilding of the party.

I'm not putting money on either one of these guys but it's nice to see them fighting like Democrats for the position.

Gingrich would be a heck of an interesting choice, simply because he strikes me as the kind of technocrat the RNC needs right now to formulate a new approach for the party.

Either one would be great for the GOP, but Gingrich understands politics better than just about anyone.

Gingrich is that odd mix of institutional memory and youthful exuberance. He could stir up the 24-35 year olds in a way that a lot of politicians his age could not.

On the other hand, Steele has the biggest possible upside for the next 20 years and probably has more at stake in this race.

It should be an interesting fight.
